Victorian Walnut Chair with Red Velvet Upholstery

SOLD

This is an excellent example in great condition. The red velvet upholstery shows little wear. The back is faded a bit. Probably from sitting near a window for years. Good solid walnut frame with burl veneer accents and casters on the front legs.

Reproduction English Library Stool

$210.00 FIRM

This 19th century reproduction was made by a local master craftsman using antique air-dried walnut and finished with shellac and wax. It was used for reaching books or merchandise on high shelves and as a seat. This version is 10 1/2" off the floor with a long, handle. The handle serves double duty: It is a support when reaching for the highest shelf, and its waist height eliminates the need for bending down when you want to move it.

Walnut Drop Front Desk

$485.00

This great drop front desk was made in 1912 by a cabinet maker living in Belton Missouri. A single wide walnut board is used for the tops, sides, and drop front. A single wide pine board is used for the back and drawer bottom. Wonderful hand-cut dovetail construction on the drawer.

The hardware is all original. A few repairs have been made along the way but not to any distraction. I’ve cleaned all the old wax, dirt and grime and applied a fresh coat of good quality paste wax to bring it back to what you see here. All you’ll need to do to keep this piece in top condition is an occasional wipe with a damp cloth and maybe a fresh coat of good quality paste wax each year or two.

Dropping the lid reveals a slanted writing surface. Six pigeon holes flank left and right of a central open compartment including a small drawer and open storage above.

 Overall Height: 47 1/2”
Height: 43", Width: 14", Depth: 10 1/2"
