Empire
Country Drop-Leaf Table $310.00 Country Empire furnishings were simple interpretations of the style fashionable all over the country between about 1815 and 1850. Native woods, such as walnut on this table, were used for such rural products. The turned legs on this table are less refined than on fashionable Empire pieces. Height:
29", Length: 48", Depth: 19" (closed); |

Victorian
Oak Library Table Circa 1900 $670.00 A
really nice late Victorian library
table in quarter-sawn oak and finished in mission brown. A nice
departure from all the golden oak. Professionally
refinished with
a low maintenance urethane varnish and
hand-rubbed
paste wax. About all you’ll need to do to keep
this piece in top condition
is an occasional wipe with a damp cloth and
maybe a refresh coat of good quality paste wax each year or two. |

Mahogany
Empire Card Table (Circa 1840) This
is a wonderful and unusual example of an early 19th century Empire game
table with it’s original French polish finish. Matched crotch mahogany
veneer throughout on pine and oak
secondary wood. Other than minor veneer chips on the base and
slightly warped top, this table is in excellent condition. Expect the
wide top boards to change (less or more warp) as climatic condition
change. The warp could actually go away in a properly conditioned home
environment. |

Mahogany
Empire Chest of Drawers $510.00 An excellent example of an Empire chest of drawers made around 1840. The
wide poplar boards used for the drawer bottoms and the back of the chest,
the hand-cut dovetails, the right amount of oxidation on the interior
parts, the right amount of wear on the drawer runners (the runners have
been replaced because they were worn through), crotch veneer drawer
fronts, and the original wooden drawer pulls are all clues that
this chest is original. You can see several patches have been made to repair chipped or missing veneer. This is pretty typical on these chests. This piece has been professionally refinished with shellac and then a good quality paste wax. New lock sets have been installed and new escutcheons on the middle and bottom drawer have been inlayed. The top drawer escutcheon is original. The mirror is new. Height:
79”. Width: 42 1/2”. Depth: 20 1/2" |
