Country Empire furnishings were simple interpretations of the style fashionable all over the country between about 1815 and 1850. Native woods, such as walnut on this table, were used for such rural products. The turned legs on this table are less refined than on fashionable Empire pieces.

This table has been professionally refinished with a maintenance free polyurethane varnish. The two single-board leaves are supported by swing-out legs pivoting from a plain skirt. This piece is ideal for informal settings.
